Scions Tour

To launch our new album, To Cry Out In The Wilderness, Scions went on tour this past week to Halifax, Sackville, Saint John, and Fredericton! La Journée de la Harpe

I had a lovely time in Montreal this weekend at La Journée de la Harpe, a festival organized by La Société des Harpistes de Montréal. I presented a workshop and performed in a concert with the wonderful kora player Zal Sissokho, and took in some very cool workshops and performances throughout the day. Thank you to the harp community of Montreal for such a great day!

Canadian Folk Music Awards

Congratulations to the Bombadils who took home Vocal Group of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in St. John's Newfoundland! I went up with them to play in their showcase at the Ship Pub and got to attend the awards ceremonies and have a blast in St. John's.

Wolfe Island Residency

New Hermitage spent seven days on Wolfe Island last week on a beautiful residency period of musical exploration with Joyful Joyful and Michael C. Duguay. Thanks to the Canada Council for funding this work and to the Hotel Wolfe Island for hosting the residency and two public performances. More to come from this collaboration later this year!

New Hermitage Halloween Tour

This year, New Hermitage took its annual silent film show on the road with generous support from SuddenlyListen! We had two showings of Nosferatu in Halifax, we did Faust in Charlottetown, and then we did Nosferatu again in Wolfville. The poster was created by the amazing Charvel Rappos.

Performances with Olivia Barrett

Over the past few weeks, I've been out west for some performances and recording with the wonderful fiddler Olivia Barrett, who I met at school in Limerick. Videos are coming soon of some of Olivia's latest compositions, arranged for fiddle and harp. We also had the chance to reunite with Lizzy Hewitt and are hoping to bring our trio out east for a tour in summer 2023!

New Hermitage Tour

Sunday night marked the end of a beautiful tour with New Hermitage. We performed in Chicoutimi, Ottawa, Montreal, LaHave, Fredericton, Wolfville, Halifax, and Sackville, in some great venues with many wonderful performers sharing the bill. TradicijaNova

This weekend, all the masters students in Irish Traditional Music and Dance from UL traveled to Serbia for the TradicijaNova Summit in Belgrade. The trip involved three amazing days in the city and a performance in the beautiful theatre space Atelje 212. We had the chance to catch a few other dance performances and events at the summit and to explore some historic parts of Belgrade.
