Pear Tree Shows

Adrianna and I had a great little tour this month, playing in Antigonish, Riverport, and Halifax. Thank you to everyone who supported the Pear Tree this year!

 

Talismanic Episode Assembly

Last week, Michael Cloud Duguay hosted his latest recording project at Radstorm on Gottigen St, where he recorded nine musicians in one-on-one improvised sessions. At the end of the week we had a performance all together. I was very grateful to be included in this project amongst so many heavy hitters!

Sunreturn

Jude, Jennifer, Anthony, and I had a great week of touring through Nova Scotia with a program of mostly medieval Christmas tunes and carols, presented by Musique Royale.

Brighter & Brighter

Folk Song Accompaniment

Today, I launched a new educational resource for harp students who are looking to build their repertoire of chord patterns. It’s a pdf book called “Folk Song Accompaniment” and it works through nine patterns, each presented with a different popular folk song. The tenth and final song in the book combines all the patterns to create an arrangement. 

The book comes with two variations on each pattern, origin of the songs, lead sheets, lyrics, and play along melody tracks at two speeds.

Andrew and I had a small performance on November 21st to try out his new quadrophonic delay setup, to launch our duo Herman Murmur, and to collaborate with our friend Andrew Maize on video installation.
